As the floodwaters, which have inundated many parts of Jakarta since
Friday, started to recede Tuesday (Feb.6) people began to put their
lives back together through restored communications and cleanup efforts.
Some made salvage trips, picking through their waterlogged belongings and
either consigning them to a dumpster or cleaning them off. Amid shortages
of food, drinking water and medicines, the victims can only wait, wonder
and hope for relief. -- JP
