Forgiving and family together
across Indonesia

Once every year it happens. Millions of Muslims
throughout the archipelago wake up early, clean
themselves and don their best clothes.

It is Idul Fitri, the two-day celebration that comes
after a month of refraining from indulging desire and
anger. Every mosque broadcasts prayers and the
doors are open.

The celebrations may look different from place
to place, but happiness, forgiveness and
togetherness are palpable here, there and
everywhere.
