Accentuating the Positive

Negative thinking is something all of us like to avoid in our lives. Michele Cempaka meets Jelila, an internationally renowned spiritual healer in Bali, who is helping people reprogram their thoughts.

There is no doubt that Bali offers an abundance of choices for anyone who is seeking a spiritual healer or soothsayer, whether it be a traditional dukun who some might deem a witch doctor, or an energy healer such as a Reiki practitioner or a prognosticator.

Amid the rank and file of healers is Jelila, who takes a very unique approach in her spiritual work. She came to Bali in 1997 on holiday and decided to make the island her home. She left her high powered corporate job, rented out her flat in England and came back in a month with plans for self mastery and spiritual healing.

At that time she had no idea that she was a healer, but shortly thereafter she started teaching yoga and then began doing crystal healings.

“I’ve come to realize that it’s something that I’ve done for many, many lifetimes,” said Jelila. “What makes my work quite unique is that I have a background in computing, so I have this analytical brain as well as the intuitive. “I’ve been able to discover some of the processes behind the healing…what’s actually going on and to be able to explain that. I find that satisfying because it helps me make a bridge to people who are mostly in the real world and logical; to them some of these things may seem rather ethereal and airy fairy, but I can actually explain what I’m doing so it makes sense.”

Jelila has worked with some shamanic healing modalities such as Matrix activation, which is a special way of aligning the self, heart chakra healing and re-connective healing, which comprises the 24 strand DNA. She utilizes all of these methods when she is working inside someone’s aura.

Through her studies with Amana Virani, a Shamanic healer who frequently comes to Bali, Jelila became certified as a 35 advanced light language practitioner.

This is a very advanced healing form in which one learns how to design auras for people in order to help them create what they want. While that is fascinating, I was particularly intrigued by her healing work which deals with reprogramming.

“In my work with the subconscious mind I use logic to a great degree. I actually use Bulean logic, which is the basis of computer programming. I’ve created the healing modality called The Reprogramming, in which I use my intuitive sense and also my experience to divine what a deep issue is from somebody; that’s always a deep belief that they’ve taken on that’s not helping them at all, and in fact, is blocking their life and causing them problems, irritations and fear. I’m able to very quickly find that deep issue.

“Then, I have this wonderful process in which they simply speak some phrases which include the belief, so that we can change it very rapidly, so that all the information that’s resting on that idea and their personal information systems shifts and everything changes for them.”

Jelila has a knack for ferreting out people’s negative beliefs. When we discovered what mine were, I was asked to speak some phrases and as I said the last words “and I surrender”, I felt a profound shift in myself that took me totally by surprise. I was amazed by how simple the whole process was, yet how powerful it could be in eliminating one’s negative beliefs.

Afterward, Jelila asked me to lie down on a massage table and proceeded to place a vast array of crystals, stones and other trinkets on my body. This was the energy aspect of her healing work which is also quite powerful. She then sat beside me and sang a lyrical song on her guitar that she had specifically written for her healing work.

Her beautiful voice took me on a journey deep into my subconscious. I saw images of significant people in my life that I had unresolved feelings with and felt myself letting go of the emotions which had been weighing me down. As I concluded my session with Jelila, I felt unbelievably light as though I had undergone a spiritual house cleaning.

Jelila utilizes many different strategies to help her clients. For example, if she comes across someone who has a strong ego and is very resistant to reprogramming, she can always switch to using her energy healing which is more intuitively based. She began doing sound healing six years ago when she realized that her music had such a positive affect on people.

“The essence of it is using intention, that’s all the essence of healing is… that you have an intention to heal a person with whatever it is you’re employing. Somebody else suggested that I try singing colors and that basically opened everything up because I could use all of my knowledge and abilities with colors from my art, and sing it in the form of light. The deepest level of who we are is a pure vibration of energy and light. On top of that, our feelings and experiences are recorded in our aura. I discovered that I can work directly with that.”

Jelila also has Journeys with Jelila, a series of 11 vibrational healing CDs that can be used to transform a different area of one’s life bringing in relaxation and healing of the self.

“It’s a new model for understanding the self which is a very practical framework that everyone can use. The CD’s also balance, so that people can balance work, play and spirituality,” explained Jelila.

In the future, Jelila plans to have spiritual retreats in Bali which will offer activities that aid in integrating the four aspects of the self: the masculine, feminine, inner child and spiritual self. It is through the integration of our four parts of our self that we can experience balance and harmony in our lives.

Tips from Jelila for sustaining your well-being:

1. Write down your feelings and let them be OK.
2. If you have a situation that’s difficult, just imagine it the way that you would really like it to be.
3. There is a scale of outcomes of possibilities which go from very bad to absolutely fantastic. Why not allow yourself to accept that the absolutely fantastic is the one you’re choosing.
4. Take an action with the intention of creating your desired results. This can be as simple as picking up a cup of tea and putting it down with the intention of creating your desired result. You can also dance your intention to manifest your desire.
5. Feel how you’ll feel when you get it right now and enjoy that feeling all day.
