Tech Fashion

It’s your call how you want to be in fashion, and now technology is giving you help.

Technology never ceases to amaze me. I never imagined that my clothing or sports shoes could become a medium to hear my favorite music during my daily workout, or help me monitor the calories burned.

Last year Levi’s came out with its Levi’s Red Wire DLX Jeans with Apple Inc. With a limited number of 50 pairs for the price of almost Rp 3 million, you could hear your favorite music, without ever having to worry that your iPod might be stolen or where forgetful you put the tiny gadget (it’s another matter if the jeans were the target of thieves).

Recently sports clothing manufacturer Nike, again working with Apple, debuted its new sports shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Moire, whose wonders of technical innovation allows communication through one’s iPod in a system called Nike+iPod Sport Kit. Users receive information on the distance covered, calories expended and speed which is conveyed to the iPod screen and real-time response through headphones.

When you are done working up a sweat, hitch up your iPod Nano to your Mac® or PC to retain the information on your workout.

"We worked with Nike to bring the worlds of music and sport to a whole new level,” said

Jeremy Khoo, Marketing Communications Manager South Asia, Apple Inc. "The result is like having your very own personal trainer or workout partner to give you motivation every step of the way.”.

The Nike+iPod requires Nike+ sports shoes and iPod nano with Mac® and portal USB 2.0 serta Mac OS® X of the 10.3.9 version or a computer equipped with Windows with portal USB 2.0 and Windows 2000, XP Home or Professional (SP2).

It’s time to get moving even if your daily activity up to now has consisted of lying on the sofa or nursing a couple of coffees and scones at the local coffee store. Of course, you do not have to go overboard with all the gadgets, and the musical jeans may be a bit of an extravagance. Just as the song warns that Too Much Love Will Kill You, likewise too many gadgets will leave you broke and nuts to boot.
