The Green Book

READ The Green Book. Launched last month, the eco-friendly book is a compilation of personal insights and stories from Hollywood’s green rangers – celebrities and musicians who have embraced eco-friendly living and incorporated green habits into their lifestyles.

Better yet, the book also offers more than 700 easy, everyday tips on how you can do the same.

Owen Wilson, Cameron Diaz, Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Timberlake, Martha Stewart, Robert Redford and Will Ferrell count among its celeb contributors.

LISTEN to Prince’s newest album release Planet Earth. The latest effort by His Purple Highness marks his 24th studio album and has been mostly hush-hush, with little information released about its guest collaborators or track list. Could the album be the pint-sized musician’s ode to Mother Earth? We’re just guessing.

GET with the Potter program. Harry Potter casts an enchantment spell over the world this month with the release of the fifth movie of the franchise Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as well as that of the seventh and last book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As Potterheads the world over contemplate the boy wizard’s final chapter, what can those who can’t be less interested in the entire Harry Potter hoopla do? Brace themselves for the Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, currently in the works and due for completion in 2009.

SWOON over the Prada LG Phone. Seems designer labels on your back and your feet aren’t enough any more. The first-Prada branded mobile, released in the U.S. two months ago, is everything you’d expect from the high-fashion brand – sleek, slim, black, and, of course, boasting a hefty price tag of US$849.

SHOP at one of three destinations holding annual shopping sales in the next two months. Yes, hot on the heels of the Great Singapore Sale and the recently concluded Jakarta Great Sale, are the Dubai Summer Surprises, the Hong Kong Shopping Festival’ (both run from now until Aug. 31) and Malaysia’s Mega Sale, through Sept. 2. Pick your favorite.

WATCH the highly anticipated The Simpsons Movie. Details about the plot are still scant at press time, but anyone who’s knows the Simpsons knows not knowing what they get up to next is always part of the fun. If you like your action live, not animated, opt for the high octane Live Free or Die Hard where Bruce Willis reprises his role as tough cop John McClane. This time round, the reluctant hero takes on an Internet-based-terrorist group hell bent on annihilating the Land of the Free.
